Animal Adoption Guidelines
Every effort is made through careful screening and evaluation to ensure that all our dogs are adoptable. With that in mind, we will counsel and advise adopters on their choice of pet to try to ensure that the dog they want is the one which will best fit into their home.
As part of this process we will ask you to fill out an Adoption Application. We ask for information which will help us decide what pet might best fill your needs and whether you are ready to give it a good permanent home.
You will be required to bring your present dog(s), if any, to our center for an introduction to the dog you want to adopt. An appointment will be necessary as our trainers are not there everyday.
When you have settled on a particular animal and it is and determined that the entire family is committed to this decision. a home visit will be conducted to ensure the security of your pet. All applications are subject to approval by our committee. If there is more than one application for a specific dog, the committee will choose what we believe to be the best home for our dog.
A binding Adoption Contract is then completed and the adoption made. Whenever possible a supply of food will be supplied to transition the animal to a new diet.
Mutt Matchers & Friends is committed to the animals we adopt and we ask that our Adopters contact us with any concerns or problems. We have several knowledgeable people who can probably help. Many times a problem has a simple solution if addressed early on.
All animals adopted from Mutt Matchers must be returned to Mutt Matchers if the Adopter cannot keep it for any reason.
